Ashleigh Fedo, 25, didn’t just pick up a hobby when she began painting in early 2007. She established an independent, private art studio. That’s a pretty bold move for a novice. Since then she has been working on developing both her studio and her style.

“I was really shaky when I started painting and I had to practice a lot to get a good feel for it. I started watching a lot of movies, one in particular was the Corpse Bride. My style started to take after that…kind of like a lively and more colorful version of the macabre style. I like lines, stitches, and stuffed animal-like features in my subjects. I went through a huge transformation over the past year and I almost surprised myself because I never saw it coming!”
