The Ropes are a mysterious little outfit out of the UK. The “About” section of the band’s site says simply: “We are The Ropes. We want to fight you.”

So, they aren’t great conversationalists, but they are musically chatty…..

In “Be My Gun” they crooningly claim to be a bullet and bequeath you to be their gun. In “I Don’t Like To Get Dirty,” one of the few songs to ever be deemed “Not Safe For Work” by USA Today and one of the fastest spreading iLikes ever, they tell you “to go **** yourself.” They aren’t afraid to tell you they love you or hate you. I guess they are moodily chatty, too. But - they have toured with such acts as The Used, Innerpartysystem, and The Matches, they just released a new EP, and their sound is addictive. Give them a go.
